On Sunday 17th June 2007 we went with Graham & Anne for a day outing to visit Kew Gardens in London. It was a most fascinating day with so much to see and do and we had a wonderful day in the fresh air and sunshine.

Graham & Anne picked us up in their car at around 9 o'clock in the morning and drove through to Kew Gardens. The first views of the gardens are of well kept lawns punctuated with trees and shrubs from around the world. Not far from the entrance is this wonderful old mansion with its beautiful lawns and the fountain out the front.

Take a look at some of the fascinating pictures we took during the day by clicking on the picture above.

The huge variety of trees and plants that they have growing in the gardens and green houses is quite overwhelming. Walking through the tropical greenhouses and seeing plants that grow wild in South Africa was quite heart warming. I felt quite at home there right in the middle of London. We walked for miles down the footpaths and through the greenhouses but were too intrigued to realize that our feet and legs were quite sore.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day out and felt re-energized by the time we returned home in the evening.
